Sweetie was a stray kitten abandoned in a box outside the Shelter in 2003 with several serious wounds. The loving staff recognized she had a will to live and contacted Country Hills Animal Health to assist with her special medical needs. Realizing she was in otherwise good health, they performed surgery on Sweetie, removing her right eye and right rear leg. She made a complete recovery and has easily adapted to her physical challenges. She soon found a loving home with one of our board members, Carrie Stollenwerk and Jim Olsen, where she thrives today! Sweetie is one of the lucky ones that received a second chance through the help of veterinarians at Country Hills Animal Health. Not all animals are as fortunate as Sweetie because finances are not readily available to pay for these medical procedures. Today, with the help of local vet clinics that provide our Shelter with generous discounts for their services and along with your kind donations to the new "Sweetie Fund", more of these special animals can be helped! Please open your hearts and consider a tax-deductible donation towards our "Sweetie Fund". There are other unfortunate animals that may need emergency medical care and they also deserve a second chance! Every single dollar donated helps! Thank you for your continued support of the Fond du Lac Humane Society. | Public Notices

Sweetie (pictured here) is a cherished pet whose life and fate inspired the recent establishment of the NEW emergency medical treatment account, the "Sweetie Fund", for the Fond du Lac Humane Society's shelter cats and dogs. This fund helps pay for the animal's special medical needs or emergency medical treatment.
